Complications following surgery in 2014 left charity founder Luisa Pearce unable to walk unaided. With the rules of mobility rewritten overnight it proved to be difficult to find appropriate support for the various products and services she was entitled to and required.

But this isn't about Luisa - this is about everyone who is currently unable to fund the equipment they require, who don't know where to turn for support, and for those whose quality of life is less than it could be; Welcome to Freedom For Wheels.

Completed Dorney Lake already?

Fancy TWO challenges this summer?

The Charity operates solely on money donated to us by individuals, family and friends of those we support, corporate giving and through our fundraising activities.

We are forever in a debt of gratitude to everyone who has given something - money, time, skills or expertise.

We complete four high profile fundraising projects a year and numerous smaller activities. Click below to see how you can get involved.

"Freedom For Wheels are a diverse group of individuals from all walks of life who are joined together with one goal: to help disabled individuals within Kent receive the equipment and support required to enable them to have a high quality of life"

Scafell Pike is the highest mountain in England, standing at an impressive 978m above sea level. Reaching its rocky summit and seeing the magical panorama of the beautiful Lakeland Fells unfold before you in all directions is an incredible feeling, whatever your level of expertise. Its rocky summit and the barren landscape around is wonderfully remote, and the feeling of being somewhere really special is unmistakable.

Freedom For Wheels have arranged forLakeland Mountain Guides to take us to the Summit of Scafell. Lakeland Mountain Guides specialise in mountain sports and adventure travel. They are a passionate team with intimate knowledge of the regions they explore and the experiences they provide.

Please Note:

This event is open to people with a disability provided they feel that they would be able to take part.

The cost is £45 per person and you will receive a lovely finishing medal at the summit of Scafell.

This event is done as a team and it is not a race to the top, so no one will be left trailing behind.

Contact us for further information or to add your name to the list of participants. There are limited spaces available.

If you have a disability and wish to discuss this with Lakeland Mountain Guides, to check this climb is for you, you can contact them on 01900 336795

Payment is taken nearer the time and provided your fundraising for Freedom for Wheels exceeds the registration fee, you can claim the fee back.
